The Trust currently has a requirement for rapid test kits to detect Clozapine.Treatment of Schizoaffective disorder with antipsychotics requires regular monitoring of blood concentrations to ensure that treatment is safe and effective. Some patients dislike venous blood sampling, clinicians may be reluctant to use certain antipsychotics because of the associated logistical demands, and there is a delay before the results become available. With the advent of novo technologies which allow for rapid antipsychotic concentration measurements at the point of care by fingerstick capillary blood methods we would like to find a suitable supplier to support transition to such a testing platform.
