This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The standstill period begins on the day after the publication of this notice. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by 19/02/2025 via email address razib.riaz@uhb.nhs.uk. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR.The principle decision maker is Thomas Lowbridge (General Manager - Renal, Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism)Conflicts of interest identified among [group/committee/officer]: None. The provider has a proven track record of delivery in line with NHS expectations of the contract and has been an effective partner in the elective recovery of the Birmingham and Solihull system. The existing provider is satisfying the original contract and will likely satisfy the proposed contract to a sufficient standard. The proposed contract is a 8 week renewal of an existing contract to continue to support with elective recovery targets and the delivery of patient care. The intention of the Trust is to bring this activity back in house from May 2025.Due to the short nature of the proposed contract it was decided that it would not be proportionate or represent value for money to undertake a competitive exercise due to the requirement for any new provider to mobilise for in a short space of time for a relatively short contractual period.
