The service provides advice, training, and outbreak response, working closely with partners like the UK Health Security Agency and Greater Manchester Integrated Care.

The service is required to maintain high standards of infection prevention and control to safeguard public health and ensure the continuity of essential services.

'This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. This contract has now been formally awarded using the most suitable provider process. The lifetime value of this contract is £1,088,440 over a period of 5 years between 01/04/2025 and 31/03/2030 .
