National Grid are seeking vendors to perform adversary simulation exercises including red and purple team exercises. The purpose of this tender is to solicit the expertise of experienced security consultants to simulate real-word threat actors and assess the capability of our security teams to prevent, detect and respond to cyber-attacks.

National Grid is committed to maintaining a high level of security and requires a vendor that can provide a comprehensive and thorough evaluation of our security systems and processes. The successful vendors will have experience in performing red and purple teaming exercises against environments including cloud (Azure), OT networks, CNI, and on-premises systems including Microsoft AD and AAD, container platforms, and Linux servers.

National Grid is looking for vendors with a proven track record of delivering high-quality security services to organisations with similar security needs.

We use the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) when compiling lists of potential suppliers for our goods and services requirements. For the majority of our purchases, it is a condition of supplying to National Grid that suppliers are registered on the UVDB.

We expect to release the PQQ on Achilles at the beginning of April 2023. Please ensure you are registered on Achilles and visible under the UVDB code: 2.1.23 Cyber Security Consulting or Services in order to participate in this tender. The PQQ will not be available to suppliers who are not registered on Achilles under this code.
