two.2.4) Description of the procurement

UKHSA requires to purchase Elispot and Fluorospot kits from Mabtech AB for ongoing use with their specific laboratory equipment over a 1-year period. The laboratory equipment supplied by Mabtech must use their own OEM supplies due to equipment compatibility and ongoing testing results compliance.
It must be noted that if the test kits or equipment change mid-study, this would require protocol amendments and discussions with regulatory agencies to inform them of protocol changes and study deviations. This could lead to delays in results, as new impact assessments would need to be made, detailing the change and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals. These changes must align with the same products used previously to maintain continuity of test data; otherwise, we risk introducing potential ambiguity into the test results.
Therefore, a decision has been made to enter into a 1-year agreement with Mabtech AB for this procurement, with a 1-year extension option available.
