two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The scope predominantly comprises of existing M&F and Calciner Spares. The successful supplier will be able to manufacture, supply and deliver the following:

 General machining and fabrication of products including high precision and complexity manufactured from all material grades such as carbon steel, stainless steel and exotic materials from engineering drawings up to Quality Grade 01.
 UKCA Marking / CE Marking on behalf of Sellafield Ltd
 Undertaking manufacturing trials, prototyping and a Design for Manufacture Studies capability to allow proof of concept (which builds on recent LFE from other manufactured products contracts and the introduction of New Product Introduction (NPI) arrangements by the Manufactured Products Organisation (MPO)
 An Emergency Supply Agile Service should there be an emergency breakdown on plant. This will include 24/7 level of support (by exception when required) and expediting of delivery in case of urgent Sellafield Ltd demands.

Provision is also made within MPAS, as a category approach, for the potential to include manufacture, supply and delivery of:

 Flask Spares – these are high complexity up to Quality Grade 01.
 Melters – are high precision and high complexity manufactured products up to Quality Grade 02.
 Inductors - Furnace inductors, and associated equipment up to Quality Grade 02
 Stillages & Stools - required for High Integrity Stainless Steel Containers (HISSC) up to Quality Grade 02.

Background

Sellafield Ltd would like to inform you of an upcoming tender opportunity for the Manufactured Products Agile Spares (MPAS), the scope of which is set out below.

The products to be procured through MPAS are currently procured through the Machined & Fabricated (M&F) and Calciner Spares Framework Agreements. These M&F Framework Agreements have been extended by 12 months until 30 April 2025. The existing arrangements for Calciner Spares expire on 17th November 2024 but contain provision for Sellafield to extend those arrangements for a period of up to 2 years.

It is anticipated that MPAS Contract shall be carried out as utilising the Restricted process and will have a contract commencement date of 1st May 2025. MPAS will be awarded to a single supplier (no Lots) for a period of 4 years. After that period, it is intended that the products within MPAS will be procured through the Manufactured Products Partnership (MPP) Procurement (Atamis ref: C14741 & Contract finder: CF-0091900D4L000000iAvzUAE).
