Provision of management and medical services in the Functional Gut Clinic on behalf of West Suffolk NHS Foundation TrustThis contract provides for the provision of expert consultant-led neuro-gastroenterology diagnostic services and clinical management for the Trust. The service encompasses the delivery of specialist medical diagnosis and treatment planning, alongside comprehensive clinical governance oversight and performance monitoring through outcome auditing.In addition to clinical delivery, the provider will deliver strategic management services to support the growth and efficient operation of the gastroenterology unit. This includes professional advisory on service expansion, collaboration with third-party healthcare stakeholders, and the development of marketing and promotional initiatives to support patient engagement and service awareness. The provider will work in partnership with the Trust's Medical Director to ensure integrated, high-quality care pathways and the delivery of a long-term growth plan for upper and lower gastrointestinal services.This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice under Direct Award Process C. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the Procurement Act 2023 and the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.

As per the PSR direct award process, the existing provider is satisfying the existing contract, delivering a good service, with no quality concerns and good outcomes and has very good feedback from patients and are likely to satisfy the new contract, and the proposed contracting arrangements are not changing from the existing contract. The decision to award has been made by Emily Diplock and there is no conflict of interest.

Provision of management and medical services in the Functional Gut Clinic on behalf of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

This contract provides for the provision of expert consultant-led neuro-gastroenterology diagnostic services and clinical management for the Trust. The service encompasses the delivery of specialist medical diagnosis and treatment planning, alongside comprehensive clinical governance oversight and performance monitoring through outcome auditing.

In addition to clinical delivery, the provider will deliver strategic management services to support the growth and efficient operation of the gastroenterology unit. This includes professional advisory on service expansion, collaboration with third-party healthcare stakeholders, and the development of marketing and promotional initiatives to support patient engagement and service awareness. The provider will work in partnership with the Trust's Medical Director to ensure integrated, high-quality care pathways and the delivery of a long-term growth plan for upper and lower gastrointestinal services.

This contract is to be awarded for an initial 3 year term and subject to continued satisfactory provider performance and the ongoing requirements of the Trust can be extended for up to two (2) further periods of twelve (12) months each (2 x 12 months)

the estimated value of this contract is £425,000 (~£85,000 per year )
