seven.2) Information about modifications

seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

Following the withdrawal of the awarded Supplier on 31/07/2018, the contract was awarded to the second ranked tenderer in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the contract.

The parties have agreed a modification of the existing contract by way of a three month extension from 1/04/2021 until 30/06/2021 to allow the current contractual arrangements to remain in place to allow for a new procurement exercise to be completed.

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.

Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:

The impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an unprecedented demand on Commercial Procurement Services (CPS) which could not have been reasonably foreseen by EANI. This modification extending the contract for three months is required to allow for an effective procurement exercise and the award of a robust contract fully compliant with the Public Contract Regulations.
