seven.2.1) Description of the modifications
Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):
The parties have agreed a modification of the existing contract by way of a 10 month extension from 1/04/2021 until 31/01/2022 to allow the current contractual arrangements to remain in place to allow for a new procurement exercise to be completed.

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
The current Contract has extensions available; however, given the unforeseen impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic resulted unprecedented demand for cleaning products for School Meals Kitchens which could not have been reasonably foreseen by EANI. This modification extending the contract for 10 months is required to allow for an effective procurement exercise and the award of a robust contract fully compliant with the Public Contract Regulations.
