This is a voluntary ex ante transparency notice (VEAT). This notice is to indicate that the Heriot-Watt University intends to contract with PAL Robotics S.L. for the provision of TIAGo++ and ARI robotic equipment. These peices of robotic equipment have very significant budgetary and time restraints which only one identified provider can provide.

Heriot-Watt University intends to contract with PAL Robotics S.L. for the supply and delivery of 2no. TIAGo++ and ARI robots.

The principal purpose of the contract is to acquire goods in connection with HRI research undertaken by the University.

Explanation:

A scoping exercise was conducted by end user within the University`s School of Mathematics & Computer Sciences with findings drawn that only TIAGo++ and ARI robots from PAL Robotics can meet all of the specification of requirements to enable HRI research to be conducted.
