Somerset Council is seeking to commission alternative education through a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), for those children and young people who are Somerset residents and whom Somerset Council have a statutory responsibility, the child / young person does not have a school place or are on the roll of a Somerset school or academy.

Somerset Council are seeking to strengthen and improve outcomes for vulnerable young people. This is to be achieved by ensuring access to high quality alternative provision, utilizing clear and transparent referral and quality assurance routes via a DPS, which will be published online.

To raise attainment for this vulnerable group Somerset Council will ensure that there are clear expectations outlined so that children are supported to achieve their full potential.
