No conflicts of interest were declared.

The key criteria were weighted as follows: Quality and innovation (30%), Value (30%), Integration, Collaboration and Service Sustainability (20%), Improving access, reducing health inequalities and facilitating choice (10%); Social Value (10%). Quality and value are the most important factors for this contract, as the Provider will be supporting the department and minimising waiting times.

As the incumbent, the provider has demonstrated high-quality, reliable and patient-centred service provision over the current contract. The provider is highly proactive, always ensuring supplies are ordered and in stock for patient appointments, contributing to service efficiency and utilisation. There are very few orthotic consultants nationally and the Trust has been fortunate to be able to secure additional resource through this contract. The service provision is fully integrated - it is provided at SFT sites, following all SFT policies, procedures and protocols/patient pathways ensuring a seamless service provision to patients.
