Explanation:

The Memokath was the first and only metallic stent to be recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), for the treatment of ureteric obstruction. The NICE guidelines suggest that using the Memokath -051 in appropriate patients can relieve ureteric obstruction, and improve the patient's quality of life. When comparing the Memokath-051 to double J stents, patients found they had a better experience with the Memokath. The Memokath is 100% reversible and causes minimal risk of infection. Memokath system causes Less reflux, less flank pain, and less bladder irritation compared to JJ-catheters, and also fewer hospital admissions needed and fewer stent exchanges needed.
