Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is considering their future provision of Renal Dialysis Services, with in-centre and home haemodialysis in scope. In-centre Haemodialysis is provided across fives sites; Salford, Wigan, Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale. Plans are underway to replace the Rochdale site with a new site in Heywood by the end of 2022. This may or may not form part of the scope.

The current service manages the West Sector of Greater Manchester, which has a population of around 1.5 million, with approximately 450 dialysis patients between the units, and approximately 50 patients dialysing at home. The Trust has identified a strategic opportunity to improve the regional service, standardise procedures and working practices throughout the landscape, improving and providing patient care closer to home.

At this stage the Trust would like to invite input from interested parties as they work to develop a comprehensive service specification.

***Interested parties are asked to confirm their interest in further engagement with the Trust on this opportunity by completing and returning the attached questionnaire by 8th April 2021 via EU Supply referencing ‘Renal Dialysis Managed Services’ in the title. Further details will be provided upon receipt of your completed questionnaire.

The Trust anticipates publishing a Contract Notice to commence procurement in June/July 2021. The expected contract award date is anticipated to be in November 2021. The length of the contract is to be confirmed.

The submission of an expression of interest is not a pre-requisite to any subsequent procurement application; however the response to this market engagement advert will help to inform the procurement approach, including whether or not a competitive process will be appropriate, i.e. a lack of expressions of interest may be used to evidence the appropriateness to award a contract direct without a competition.
