WWU are looking to identify potential contractors to support the delivery of its mains replacement works.

Mains Replacement is the abandonment of existing metallic mains and services, replacing them with Polyethylene pipes in most cases.

Delivery of the work will be carried out with WWU (The Client) fulfilling the role of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor in accordance with the CDM Regulations. Organisations identified through this tender process will be engaged as Contractors / Sub-contractors who will operate under the WWU management systems and associated policies and procedures. Any Contractor teams supplied must consist of a minimum of one EUSR registered Mainlayer.

Lay method, elevations, depths and locations of the final pipeline are for the Client to engineer and the Contractor to construct, ensuring that the engineering and construction complies with the requirements, constraints and restrictions imposed by the works design issued and associated policies and procedures, and keeps customer inconvenience to a minimum.

The Client (WWU) will fulfil the role of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
