The purpose of this PIN is to notify the market of a forthcoming procurement and to invite potential providers to attend a Virtual Market Engagement Event for the Provision of Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery (IMOS) Dental Services including treatment under Conscious Sedation in Shropshire and Staffordshire (Lot 1: Shrewsbury).
The procurement will seek to appoint a provider(s) that can deliver Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery (IMOS) Dental Services, including treatment under Conscious Sedation.
The service is aimed at those patients who require Level 2 care – that is procedural and/or patient complexity requiring a clinician with enhanced skills and experience who may or may not be on the specialist register.
The specialty of Oral Surgery (OS) deals with the diagnosis and management of pathology of the mouth and jaws that requires surgical intervention. Oral Surgery involves the treatment of children, adolescents and adults, and the management of dentally anxious and/or medically complex patients. Oral Surgery care is provided by Oral Surgeons and by Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons as the clinical competencies of these two specialties overlap.
The service will be delivered under an NHS England Personal Dental Service (PDS) Agreement
• Proposed contract length: 7 years + up to further 3 years extension (depending upon satisfactory annual performance reviews) = 10 years
.• Anticipated service commencement date: 01st April 2023
The Commissioners will be holding a Webinar at 1pm on Tuesday 5th April 2022. Dial in details for the Webinar will be circulated to delegates once the registration process closes at 12 Noon on Friday 1st April 2022. Only organisations that have completed the questionnaire will be sent the Webinar details.
The Webinar will provide details about the services, and there will also be a procurement presentation with hints and tips for preparing a bid.
There will not be an opportunity for organisations to ask questions during the Webinar, but any questions can be submitted through the EU Supply portal (Tender/Quote 50686) once the Webinar has finished. The Commissioner will then provide a response to all questions received.
