two.1.4) Short description

Crown Commercial Service, as the Authority, intends to put in place an agreement for the provision of legal advice services for use by Central Government and UK public sector bodies.

It is intended that this agreement will be the recommended vehicle for all legal services in respect of a number of general specialisms, finance specialisms, complex projects, trade law service and rail legal services, as required by UK Central Government Departments.

The drivers for the development and procurement of this agreement are to:

Provide buyers with a compliant route to market for UK Law, international trade law negotiation and disputes

Offer an improved agreement for both buyers and suppliers

Provide buyers with access to high quality legal services

Achieve value for money

This agreement will ultimately replace and bring together the specialisms currently available under the live agreements:

RM6179 Legal Services

RM6204 Rail Legal Services

RM6183 Trade Law Panel

The final Lotting structure of this framework will be determined as a result of the market engagement.

This procurement is being conducted under the new public procurement regulations.

The duration of this agreement will be confirmed following further market engagement

This Prior Information Notice is to signal an intention to procure a new legal services agreement and to that end to commence market engagement within the legal market.

Crown Commercial Service intends to hold market engagement sessions during early 2024 with suppliers interested in bidding for the resulting panel contracts.

If you would like to be involved please express your interest by emailing info@crowncommercial.gov.uk with the subject line 'RM6360 Supplier Engagement' no later than midday on Friday 22 March 2024 further details will be provided to you.
