two.1.4) Short description

GSTT does not currently have an enterprise-wide PPM tool to support change delivery. Project management and portfolio reporting is generally completed manually and offline using Excel and PowerPoint templates. There is no ‘golden source’ project list and change data set for the Trust. The as-is position is a barrier to professionalising our approach to PPM, getting the most from limited financial and human resources, and enabling the Trust’s operating model by providing operational and clinical leaders with visibility and grip over their change portfolios.

A previous attempt to implement a digital PPM tool four years ago was unsuccessful. The tool was not fully adopted by project teams and was used in parallel with offline project management and reporting processes. The previous digital PPM tool implementation generated no benefits and was deemed a failure due to a number of factors. This tool has now been decommissioned.
