Southern Water are looking to significantly and rapidly improve the visibility of the gravity wastewater network. We believe the new breed of low cost sewer monitors, now just starting to hit the market, presents a huge opportunity and positively changes the business case for mass deployment. Assuming that our business case assumptions can be verified this summer, we plan to install 10,000’s of low cost sewer monitors from October 2021 and March 2022. Whilst deploying in parallel the associated analytics to make appropriate and effective use of the additional information to prevent sewer blockages developing into a pollution or flooding incidents.
