Midland Metro Ltd require a fleet of vehicles to carry out tramway maintenance and emergency response when necessary. The number/type of vehicles required and the specification requirements are detailed within the ITT and Appendix 3 to the ITT.
The contract will be for a minimum of three years, with the option to extend for a further two years. Any lease vehicles should initially be taken out on a three year lease. Vehicles can be new or up to 12 months old. Details of the proposed fleet can be found in Appendix 3 to the ITT.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Midland Metro Ltd require a fleet of vehicles to carry out tramway maintenance and emergency response when necessary. The number/type of vehicles required are detailed within Appendix 3 to the ITT.
The successful bidder should provide a fleet of vehicles which must include the following requirements:
- All vehicles should be compliant with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual issued by Department for Transport to allow for work to be carried out along the tramway.
- MOT, Servicing and Repairs should be included within the proposed costs.
- All vehicles with the exception of the proposed electric vehicle (Appendix 3) will require provision of a plywood fit out, as demonstrated in Appendix 2.
- All vehicles should include MML branding as shown in Appendix 4. On vans there must be an additional sticker on the back which states ‘Tramway Maintenance’.
- All vehicles must have air conditioning.
- Breakdown cover must be included. A replacement vehicle must be made available within 48 hours in the event of breakdown, repair, MOT, servicing etc. The replacement vehicle must be comparable to the vans/car in the fleet.
Vehicles must be comparable with the current fleet listed in Appendix 1 to the ITT. Vehicles can be new or up to 12 months old. Details of the proposed fleet can be found in Appendix 3 to the ITT.
