In December 2024, the government published its plan for increasing the pace of remediation for buildings in England with unsafe cladding. In response to this, CITB has been working with employers, Government and other stakeholders to put in place updated training for the inspection and installation of facades that meet fire safety standards required by the Building Safety Act.

CITB have produced the training standards required for supervisors and installers in the Rainscreen Façade Systems sector that will support training providers to deliver rainscreen facades training programmes on site to operatives and supervisors working on live projects.

This commission will focus on the delivery of a pilot for the testing and delivery of the five short duration training standards across England, Scotland and Wales. There will be four rainscreen façade systems short duration courses to existing rainscreen façade systems installers and one upskilling course for supervisors.
