Section six. Complementary information
six.3) Additional information
Suppliers that are interested must be able to deliver and support the haemodialysis services in a satellite unit are as follows:
• Suppliers that are interested must be able to deliver and support haemodialysis services in a satellite unit, as follows:
• High quality haemodialysis/haemodiafiltration for patients requiring chronic maintenance renal replacement therapy.
• Advice and support to known patients during its hours of opening – a minimum of 2 shifts per day for 6 days per week.
• Haemodialysis provision at least three times a week, for up to five hours per session, to a likely minimum of 40 patients (and likely maximum of 60; though the space & current infrastructure could support more). The patient population would include some requiring dialysis in isolation, and potentially some requiring bed bound dialysis (for example those undergoing rehabilitation on adjacent wards at Lings Bar Hospital, but fit enough to dialysis in a satellite unit).
• Achieving quality standards which, as a minimum, meet the current guidelines approved by the UK Kidney Association or its successor organisation or by relevant Specialist Services Commissioning Groups of the NHS (and any future amendments to quality standards during the contract period).
• Competent staffing comprising at least 1 NMC registered nurse per 4 patients (with a minimum of 3 per shift), and a minimum of 2 unregistered nurses per shift. Medical staff and other allied professionals would be provided by the Trust as appropriate.
• Adequate IT provision (expected to include interfaces) to ensure the Trust’s Renal electronic patient record (eMED) is updated in a timely manner with dialysis prescriptions, treatments, and related contemporary records.
• A water treatment plant adequate, and suitably maintained, to provide reliable provision of the dialysis water supply at a quality consistent with current guidelines for the duration of the contract.
• Dialysis consumables, and dialysis machines, adequate to provide the service.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will be hosting a supplier event for all suppliers that express an interest in this pre market engagement opportunity that is scheduled to place on week commencing 28 March 2022. Further information will be provided to all suppliers that provide confirmation of their expression of interest, prior to the supplier event.
This will be an informal event and is intended as a way to engage with the market and for the contracting authority to consider the feedback received to help inform our options and further decision making.
We would like suppliers to express their interest in attending the supplier event by confirming acceptance through the Atamis e-tendering portal by 11:00am on Tuesday, 22 March 2022.
