ScotRail Trains Limited would like to inform the potential scope and specification for the provision of Fuel Additives which will include the provision of compatible additives, maintaining the infrastructure, provision of a remote user interface as well as general technical fuel advice and any transition services as required.
Prospective suppliers who have the capacity and capability are asked to register an interest on the Public Contracts Scotland site to help inform the tender documents for the future of these services. It is anticipated that ScotRail will go to the market mid-2024 for these services.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
ScotRail Trains Limited (SRT) would like to inform the potential scope and specification for the provision of Fuel Additives which will include the provision of:
- A performance improvement/emissions reduction fuel additive as well as a fuel biocide additive which should be compatible with the existing infrastructure.
- Maintenance of the existing infrastructure owned by ScotRail.
- A remote user interface for monitoring tank levels, handling the data, adjusting the dose rates as necessary as well as general ongoing management.
- Subject matter and technical advice specifically in relation to general fuel related issues, this will entail a supplier requiring attending on-site locations at short notice for urgent issues.
- Transition services and implementation of a new product/service to ScotRail.
These services would be required throughout the six ScotRail managed train fuelling locations; Cadder, Corkerhill, Eastfield, Haymarket, Inverness and Perth.
