two.1.4) Short description

The Naval Base Command Devonport (NBC(D) team, acting on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) are creating an Apprenticeship Programme, with an initial focus on Engineering. This Apprenticeship Programme aims to enable a resilient, Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP), capability that can be built and maintained at a local level, to support future ships and submarine operations at HMNB Devonport.

The Authority are seeking a local Training Provider to support initial delivery of six (6) Level 3 Engineering Technician (ST0457) Apprenticeships (as set out in Engineering technician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education). 

The Apprenticeship is to commence at the start of the academic year in September 2024 and support apprentices for the duration of circa 42 months IAW Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education standards for the Level 3 Engineering Technician ST0457 Apprenticeship.

Additional Procurement Information

This procurement is operating under the Public Contracting Regulations PCR (2015), as amended, subject to the Open Procedure. 

Tenderers are invited to self-assess their suitability to the requirement and particularly the Technical Capability need for the supplier to be located within a 75-mile radius of HMNB Devonport. 

The Contract expiry date shall be without prejudice to any other term or condition of the Contract and subject at all times to the continued availability of ESFA Funding / Apprenticeship Levy funding, the duration of Contract in accordance with Schedule 2 Section 3 (Pricing Information) shall be 4 years. The Contract Implementation date shall be 01st September 2024.  

This procurement includes Options as detailed within the Invitation to Tender (ITT) documentation.
