TPE operates a fleet of twelve Class 397 electric multiple units.
These units were built by CAF and operate 125mph services on the west coast mainline.
The units will be due for their first overhaul from mid-2023 (current assumption but this may change) and TPE is now seeking expressions of interest from high quality maintenance performers for the provision of the works

TPE has arrangements in place with CAF for the supply of all parts required for the overhaul and requires a supplier with vehicle jacking facilities and 25Kv overhead lines to undertake the component replacement. A major element of the works will be bogie exchange but other components also require replacement. TPE will be seeking project management services from the supplier and will expect the supplier to be able to draft its own work instructions based upon the overhaul instructions supplied by CAF. The supplier must be competent in electrical, mechanical and bodyshell systems.
