The BNFL cohort is directly managed by PHE using the, NDA owned, CEDS database system. The management of the UKAEA cohort is contracted to a third party, NUVIA Ltd. A new contract with Nuvia for two years (with a potential additional 6-month contingency) will allow NUVIA to complete the current project to create a new database system for NDA. This system will allow PHE continue to fulfil the terms of our contract with the NDA to manage their radiation worker databases or preferably (subject to agreement) to take ownership of these databases and merge them with the NRRW to provide a higher quality unique resource for undertaking epidemiological research.
