Patients receive their appliances in a timely manner and much quicker than couldbe achieved by visiting a dentist. The current service was co-designed with the provider.Service improvement is a routine discussion at contract review meetings.Patient satisfaction scores are consistently high at 99.3% across CDS services with nocomplaints relating to the CDT service.Integration, collaboration and service sustainability:-The current CDT service is integrated within the CDS service and has proved to work incollaboration with clinicians and managers when managing domiciliary patients requiring denturework. The CDT also completes their own lab work negating the necessity of additional drivers tocollect and return lab work which in turn reduces our carbon footprint.Improving access, reducing health inequalities and facilitating choice:-Providing a service for domiciliary patients. The CDT service offers a wider choice ofappointment times for home visits which improves access and choice. Denture work iscompleted in a timely manner which reduces health inequalities for home bound patients.Value:-This is an activity based contract and value for money is key. Utilising a CDT is more costeffective than a DO providing this service. It also allows DO's to focus on other clinicaltreatment, keeping the waiting times to a manageable level which keeps the reference costsfor the CDS down.Social Value:-Providing value for money by reaching a vulnerable cohort of patients and providing dentalprosthetics in a timely manner. This further allows time for DO's to attend to other routineand urgent treatments required by patients.Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the cases listedbelowThe procurement falls outside the scope of application of the regulationsExplanation:This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice.
