Description
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has directly awarded a capital equipment purchase for the supply of slit lamps used within ophthalmology services. Standardisation is required to ensure full compatibility with existing clinical equipment, maintain consistent operational performance, and support efficient maintenance and training.
This direct award has been made in accordance with the Procurement Act 2025, which permits direct awards where statutory justifications apply. Under the Act, contracting authorities may directly award a contract without a competitive procedure when one of the statutory grounds in section 41-43 applies, including urgent situations requiring rapid procurement to maintain essential services
