We are looking for a research partner who is able to work with the Adoption National Strategic Team to develop the details of a research plan and start the research on 1 May 2023.

There are three main intended outcomes for this contract, which are:

1. Evaluation of the existing models (Adoption Counts and OAWY) utilising both existing data produced by the agencies and gathering new data.

2. Evaluation of new initiatives. To support the national strategic team capture and share the learning and themes emerging from the 7 new initiatives

3. Guidance and recommendations for best practice in establishing similar models

The objectives of the new initiatives are to:

Bring together the knowledge and expertise of different agencies and professionals to identify the individual needs of children/young people and improve the quality and timeliness of adoption support assessments and support plans

Offer timely specialist multidisciplinary assessments and support for children and young people with complex needs and develop care pathways within the NHS

Develop strong partnerships with Virtual School Heads (VSHs) and professional education organisations to improve the support offered for children & young people so that they can obtain similar education outcomes to their peers

Develop existing multiagency / multidisciplinary models across a larger region or wider group of children and/or families
