This notice is confirmation of an award having been made due to an urgent circumstance.
CLCH SLT service provides a timely and quality based assessment, therapy, advice, monitoring and safe discharge service for children and young people who have communication and/or swallowing needs requiring specialist SLT support. The service contributes SLT advice to Statutory EHCNAs.
To meet the demand and reduce the waiting times, the relevant authority need to act urgently and award a new contract for the services.
The lifetime value of the contract is £450,000.
The dates which the services are to be provided is from 23rd March 2025 to 22nd March 2026.

Explanation:

A contract award notice (confirmation) has been made in accordance with PSR Regulations 14(1), 14(2) and 14(4), contracts can be awarded under the Urgent awards or contract modifications under the PSR legislation for the below reasons with a focus on the risks to patient and/or public safety if these awards are not made:
Where a relevant authority considers that—
(a) an award or modification must be made urgently; and
(b) the reason for the urgency was not foreseeable by and not attributable to the relevant
authority; and;
(c) delaying the award of the contract or modification to satisfy the requirements of regulations 6 to 13 would be likely to pose a risk to patient or public safety,
The relevant authority considers all the above applies and therefore may make urgent award.

- This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider
Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services
(Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of
the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.
- The justification as to why this award was made under an urgent circumstance (Regulation
14 applied) is due to a surge in demand and to reduce the waiting time . Any delay or gap in service provision will impact patient access to treatment
- The contract length is 12 months.
