South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust intends to award a contract for the supply and delivery of POCT blood gas and blood chemistry reagents and consumables to Abbott Laboratories Ltd. This is to be a bridging arrangement for the period 20/03/2021 - 20/03/2022 to allow for continuity of clinical service. A competitive tender process was carried out and has now been awarded. This arrangement is required to provide continuity of clinical service whilst the newly awarded contract is implemented
(i.e. installation of equipment etc.).

Explanation:
Explanation:
In compliance with Paragraph 32(5)(b) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015, the contracting authority requires additional deliveries by the original supplier, Abbott Laboratories Ltd, which are intended as the extension of existing supplies where a change of supplier would oblige the contracting authority to acquire supplies having different technical characteristic which would result in incompatibility in operation and maintenance. These deliveries are required for the period 20/03/2021 - 20/03/2022.
A procurement exercise was conducted for the supply of these goods and has now concluded with an award of contract. This contract without a call for competition is a bridging arrangement to allow for continuity of clinical service whilst the new contract is fully implemented.
