The contract has been modified as per VEAT notice 2024/S 000-030912 to increase the value by up to £625,000 i.e. 50% of the original awarded contract value. The new contract value is now £1,875,000.
This is the first modification to this contract. The modification was completed in accordance with Regulation 72 (1)(b) and meets all of the following conditions:
(b) for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor that have become necessary and were not included in the initial procurement, where a change of contractor—
(i) cannot be made for economic or technical reasons such as requirements of interchangeability or interoperability with existing equipment, services or installations procured under the initial procurement, or
(ii) would cause significant inconvenience or substantial duplication of costs for the
contracting authority, provided that any increase in price does not exceed 50% of the value
of the original contract;
seven.2.2) Reasons for modification
Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.
Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
This modification meets these conditions as the additional services must continue to be technically compatible with what has already been developed by the Contractor under this contract and to change contractor as this point would cause significant inconvenience and a substantial duplication of costs to procure replacement services.
The value of this modification (£625k) also does not exceed 50% of the original contract value (£1.25m).
seven.2.3) Increase in price
Updated total contract value before the modifications (taking into account possible earlier contract modifications, price adaptions and average inflation)
