two.1.4) Short description
Cumberland Council are procuring for the provision of a Healthwatch Cumberland Service. This tender relates to the area covered by Cumberland Council – (Carlisle, Allerdale and Copeland).
The main purpose of Healthwatch Cumberland is to act as an independent organisation that champions the views of health and social in Cumberland, to improve the health services Cumberland residents access, to ensure stakeholders work together to achieve this and take account of the views of their service users in shaping and improving health and social care services.
The initial period of the contract is 3 years. There are two optional extensions of 12 months each. The use of these extensions is at the absolute discretion of the Council.
The contract end date on this notice includes these extensions.
The estimated average annual value of the contract is: £189,000 excluding VAT (inclusive of uplifts).
The estimated maximum total value of the Contract for the initial 3 year term is £567,000 excluding VAT. This includes an estimate of any potential uplifts.
The estimated maximum total value of the Contract for the initial term plus the 2 x 12 months optional extensions is £945,000. This includes an estimate of any potential uplifts.

Description of renewals
The Council proposes to enter into the Contract for a period of three years with the successful tenderer. There are TWO optional extensions available of up to 12 months. The optional extension are at the complete discretion of the Council. The end date of 31st May 2029 includes the two optional extensions.
