Community benefits are included in this requirement. For more information see: http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/info/InfoCentre.aspx?ID=2361

A summary of the expected community benefits has been provided as follows:

As part of Community Benefits we are looking for successful bidders to make a monetary donation to the Hillcrest Foundation. The Hillcrest Foundation helps set up services and projects that benefit people and communities across Scotland.

For this contract we are looking for successful bidders to make a donation of at least 0.5% per annum of the value of the contracted works. As this is a framework agreement this will be split equally amongst the suppliers on the framework.

An example of how this would be structured is as follows –

Total Contract Value for 3 years = GBP1,200,000

Contract Value per year = GBP400,000

If there are 4 suppliers on the framework, this should result in approximately GBP100,000 per annum in goods supplied.

The expectation would be that based on 0.5% per supplier, each supplier would donate a minimum of GBP500 per annum to the Hillcrest Foundation.

This is purely an illustrative example and the actual costs would be based on the goods supplied, and the number of suppliers on the framework.

This will be discussed and monitored as part of contract monitoring meetings.
