Explanation:
Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust are extending their current contract for the bulk supply of continence products for a 6 month period from 18th March 2021 until 17th September 2021. This is due to the pressures which the Community nurses faced during the COVID-19 pandemic which did not provide the time, resource and ability to run a thorough procurement process including trials, implementation of the successful contract and potential disruption to patients’ and their products. This extension will allow for a thorough mini-competition process to be completed including trials for the core services of product delivery and the required associated IT platform as well as sufficient implementation following a successful contract award.
It is anticipated that the Procurement process will commence 18th March 2021 for the provision of Bulk delivery continence products with an associated IT system.
