This is not a selection process or process that will result in an award. Information obtained as part of this exercise may inform requirements of a potential future procurement exercise. Due to the existing contract naturally dissolving and the cost of the living crisis, BCU is exploring laundry service options for students. This tender is for the student accommodation building – University Locks in Birmingham City Centre, which accommodates up to 659 students. The current contract operates on charge basis per wash and dry cycle. BCU is hoping to have a supplier that can install the required number of washing machines and dryers, which can operate in free vend and chargeable vend. The free vend will operate as soon as the contract commences. The vending charges will operate based on the economic climate and student affordability. There are 9 washers and 9 dryers available, operating on a cashless vend system. The laundrette room size is 22.5sqm. BCU is exploring if free vend to chargeable vend can be made available. The washing machines and dryers MUST be the appropriate type for the client group and suitable for heavy usage. All machines must be energy efficient.
