Forestry England are looking to deliver mire habitat restoration across five sites in Dorset from August 2024 to February 2025. These sites are part of the wider Dorset Peat Partnership Project, but the restoration work on these five sites will be tendered, procured and managed by Forestry England. This work is being funded by Natural England under the Nature for Climate Peatland Grant Scheme. (All invoices will be paid by Forestry England under our standard 30 day payment terms. We will then submit quarterly claims through the DPP to the NFCPGS.) Lot 1 sites are within the Ringwood Beat (Whitesheet, Gotham, Cannon Hill). Preparatory tree and scrub clearance will have been completed in advance of the required restoration work for all sites. The work required on each of these sites and the broad timings are listed below. •Drain infill using existing spoil banks (late summer/autumn) •Partial drain infill by creating peat plugs along drain lines (late summer/autumn) •Reprofile deep gullies (late summer/autumn) •Molinia flailing (late summer/autumn) •Ridge and furrow interruption (autumn/winter) Bidders will need to be able to deliver all aspects of the work required on the site
