The over-arching aim of the programme is simple: We want to make our communities safer by reducing the occurrence of serious violence and other associated crime. In doing so, we need to identify those most at risk and protect them and those around them from harm. The programme seeks to do this through, building a collaborative and cohesive cross-sector, multi-agency partnership with shared aims and a joint approach. Also, sing a range of data and evidence to identify the networks (and individuals within these networks) most at risk of involvement in serious violence to ensure that decision-making relating to inclusion in the programme is as objective and consistent as possible. The service will offer timely and tailored support to participants through building high-quality relationships and offering swift and tangible opportunities which support desistence from crime and violence. Communities will be involved as partners to build consensus for the programme and to ensure that participants develop meaningful and positive connections within their communities. Deterring participants who decline support and continue to cause harm will be done so through open communication in relation to the consequences and through swift disruption and enforcement action where necessary.
