The overarching aim of the service is to provide high quality therapy support that will support the Berkshire West area to deliver increased educational attainment and participation for children and young people with educational therapy needs and contribute to a continuing narrowing of the attainment gaps between different groups of pupils.

The Services to be provided are Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) for children and young people with SALT, OT and/or PT included as an Educational Need within Section F of their Education, Health and Care Plan (the Plan) across Wokingham, West Berkshire, and Reading (Berkshire West).

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Service will provide SALT, OT and/or PT intervention and treatment for children and young people across Berkshire West where therapy is included as an educational need (Section F) within a Plan.

The provider will ensure that children and young people make measurable progress against goals set at the outset of the intervention. This may include access to direct or indirect SALT OT and/or PT and support to parents, teachers and other professionals.

The Service will provide training and infrastructure development to allow others to support the delivery of therapy Plans for children and young people receiving a Service.

The Service will deliver interventions based on best available evidence, provided by staff with the skills, experience and competence to provide the full range of interventions to meet the needs of children and young people accepted to the Service. It will ensure effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, build relationships and deliver an integrated approach to therapy support.
