The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) wishes to advise the market of the forthcoming WYCA procurement for School Transport (Bus) Services. WYCA will be tendering a number of school transport routes, primarily in Kirklees and Calderdale.
WYCA will seek to award contracts to commence on the 2nd of September 2024 for an initial three (3) year term, with two (2) additional one (1) year extension periods brining the total maximum contract term to five (5) years.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
WYCA will be tendering a number of school transport routes across the region, primarily in Kirklees and Calderdale. Routes will be grouped into lots. Bidders can submit proposals to provide school transport for as many lots as they are capable of delivering in line with WYCA requirements.
WYCA will seek to award contracts to commence on the 2nd of September 2024 for an initial three (3) year term, with two (2) additional one (1) year extension periods brining the total maximum contract term to five (5) years.
Full route details will be provided in the Statement of Requirements on the anticipated procurement launch date of 1st March 2024. The anticipated response deadline for bids will be 5pm, 31st March 2024. (Please note WYCA reserves the right to amend these dates).

ENGAGEMENT SESSION:
An engagement session will be held via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 15th February 2024 at 12pm. Attending will be members of WYCA’s Mobility Services and Commercial Teams, and Go4Growth (an organisation WYCA is partnering with to provide support to bidders for this upcoming procurement).
The purpose of this session will be to give a high-level overview of the requirement, and notify bidders of the key changes to the procurement process since previous School Transport procurements. Bidders will be signposted to information that may support them during the procurement process.
