two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Both Genomics Birmingham and the IIA own a 10x equipment for single cell sequencing. 10x Genomics offers a complete solution for high-throughput single-cell sequencing. The 10x Genomics Chromium Controller, microfluidics chip, and reagents allow you to effortlessly isolate, barcode, prepare, and analyse thousands of cells per sample. Single Cell Discoveries offers complete, high-quality services for 10x Genomics Single Cell Gene Expression and Single Cell Immune Profiling. We are a 10x Genomics Certified Service Provider for both solutions.

This technology is essential to several current projects at the University of Birmingham. The scope includes basic research and clinical studies.

To ensure quality control and the highest standard all regents and consumables directly from 10x Genomics. Since all the reagents have been validated for the application.

Furthermore, we purchase a service contract from 10X to cover our equipment since they are the only company with the expertise and parts available to provide this service.

The equipment specified requires us to use reagents and consumables sources by 10x Genomics. No other suppliers offer equivalent products that have been validated in the 10xGenomics equipment.
