CPI wish to appoint a range of suppliers to support our ongoing automation needs. Automation and robotics are key enabling technologies within CPI, with this procurement exercise seeking to appoint a series of suppliers to a framework to support our laboratory automation requirements both current and future primarily for our National Formulation Center based at our Coxon Building facility, through the support of our existing robotic platforms with upgrades, maintenance and ongoing consumable supply and with the provision of new robotic platforms. The scope of supply for equipment purchases under this tender will include the supply and installation of equipment, with the option of commissioning the equipment if required. Purchases may include any design work, packing and shipping, training of users, maintenance, upgrades and ongoing running costs. This tender is split into 7 Lots. Lot 1 - Purchase of new custom automation platforms for preparation and characterisation of formulated products

CPI requires a platform with both a mechanical arm and autonomous mobility. The specified task involves segregation of sample vials according to predefined criteria, using image analysis. Algorithms for image analysis will be provided by CPI, however the supplier will be expected to support CPI in ensuring that results from the algorithm can be translated into movements using the robotic hardware. Future workflows may require transport of these vials for de-capping and reformatting (e.g. using a liquid handing platform) and potentially, for further analysis. Therefore, ability of the Cobot hardware/software solution to expand and integrate with additional 3rd party devices in the future, and the supplier expertise to support this as part of future work, is essential.
