seven.2) Information about modifications

seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

To procure one additional Water Carrier Pumping Appliance.

seven.2.2) Reasons for modification

Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:

The additional vehicle must be sourced from the original contractor to ensure full interoperability with the existing fleet of appliances. Introducing a different Water Carrier Pumping Appliance would compromise operational consistency and require significant technical adjustments. Furthermore, procuring from a new contractor would necessitate a separate tender process, incurring additional administrative costs and delays. Station personnel are already trained and familiar with the current vehicle specifications, so changing contractor would require further training and adaptation, leading to inefficiencies. Maintaining the same vehicle type also ensures streamlined maintenance, spare parts compatibility, and reduced lifecycle costs, avoiding duplication of resources and unnecessary complexity.

seven.2.3) Increase in price

Updated total contract value before the modifications (taking into account possible earlier contract modifications, price adaptions and average inflation)

Value excluding VAT: £251,000

Total contract value after the modifications

Value excluding VAT: £301,200
