Explanation:
The Secretary of State for Defence (the “Authority”) intends to enter into a Contract extension with Babcock International Group Ltd (“Babcock”). It is Considered the Contract Extension can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a Contract Notice pursuant to Article 28(1)(a) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(i) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011)(Additional Supplies) This decision has been made due to the original Contract being run under the Competitive procedure and subsequently due to the absence of tenders was awarded on a single source basis to Babcock.
