two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Young people aged 17-18, referred to CAMHS for ADHD treatment, face a higher risk of extended waiting times within CAMHS for initiation and titration of medication and may transition into adult services before this can be instigated due to long waiting times in the CAMHS system. The increased demand for ADHD care in CAMHS contributes to these increased waiting times, adversely impacting the timeliness of care for young people who already fall into a population who are more at risk of adverse outcomes.

Therefore Lambeth CAMHS is looking to work in partnership with a local practice who can undertake a fully integrated shared care approach. Due to the urgency of tackling the long waits in CAMHS, the provider will need to have strong existing local contacts within Lambeth and have facilities to support face to face appointments both up to 18yrs and also for 18yrs of age. Further key requirements will be for existing extensive expertise working with this age group, experience in initiating and safely monitoring ADHD medications in young people, and being able to interface around broader mental health needs with appropriate borough services. The supplier will need to run monthly clinics with capacity to see 8 young people and therefore achieve an annual total throughput of c. 20 young people for medication initiation and titration to stability.
