The Housing Development Team at Powys County Council invites construction contractors experienced in acting as principal contractors in the delivery of housing construction schemes to join us for a Meet the Buyer event where the Council will be presenting its development programme for the North of the county.
The event will be an opportunity for contractors to engage with officers from the Housing Development Team and the Council’s Commercial Services Team in order to gain an understanding of future schemes and the Council’s procurement plans.
Note that the schemes will be subject to separate tender exercises and the Council is not seeking to source a single contractor for all schemes.
Highlighted Projects:
- Maes Y Esgob, Llanrhaedr Ym Mochnant – A green field development comprising of 18 units of 3-bedroom houses, 2-bedroom houses, 1-bedroom houses, walk-up flats, and bungalows. The designs will meet Welsh Development Quality Requirements 2021 (WDQR 2021), Secured by Design Gold, and Lifetime Homes standards, aiming for an EPC A rating.
- Llanfyllin – This development is designed to provide high-quality, affordable homes that are both sustainable and energy-efficient, with all units being EPC A-rated. The Project includes a variety of housing types such as: 8 x 1-bedroom walk up flats, 4 x 1-bedroom bungalows, 2 x 2-bedroom houses and 2 x 4-bedroom houses.
- The Firs, Churchstoke – This development will feature 38 highly insulated, eco-friendly council homes built to the AECB Carbonlite standard, ensuring top-tier energy efficiency and sustainability. This includes 4 x 1-bedroom bungalows, 4 x 2-bedroom bungalows, 10 x 1-bedroom houses, 10 x 2-bedroom houses, 8 x 3-bedroom houses and 2 x 4-bedroom houses.
- Trawscoed, Llandrinio – A mixed residential development of energy-efficient, EPC A-rated homes, consisting of 6 x 1-bed flats, 4 x 2-bed flats, 5 x 2-bed bungalows, 1 x 3-bed Wheelchair-accessible bungalow, 4 x 2-bed houses and 4 x 3-bed houses.
- Former Gungrog School, Welshpool – This development replaces the former Gungrog Church in Wales Nursery and Infant School and is designed to provide 16 high quality affordable bungalows that are both sustainable and energy-efficient, with all units being EPC A-rated. This includes: 4 x 2-bedroom Bungalows and 12x 1-bedroom bungalows.
