two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The University of Derby wishes to engage with suitable providers for the delivery of sustainable energy infrastructure across a number of sites in the Derbyshire region as well as associated consultancy, maintenance, management and ancillary services.
As an authority we are open to different delivery models and options for the energy, however, in order to participate any interested party must:
Be able to evidence they have the expertise, financial standing and proven track record in the delivery of sustainable energy projects of this scale
Be able to provide the funding to deliver of the sustainable energy infrastructure that is proposed as part of the engagement
Be able to integrate the energy generated directly into the grid
Relevant details relating to the University's estate and energy usage will be provided upon signature of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Interested parties will be invited to discuss their solution with the University and be expected to provide an initial proposal to the authority on:
How we can best make use of our estate and its available spaces in the generation of zero carbon energy
What funding, ownership models, assurances and guarantees would be provided
The extent of our existing and any potential surplus energy the proposal could generate together with the associated commercial and practical proposals
How the sites would be managed, maintained and upgraded
How this could align with existing infrastructure
How the successfully delivery would be marketed
It is proposed that a Q&A session will be arranged to take place early February 2023 with the presentation of initial proposals at the beginning of March. The University will use the outputs of these presentations to inform next steps which could include a tender.
