two.2.4) Description of the procurement

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust requires Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment for patients currently on the waiting lists and registered with a GP from Lewisham or Lambeth.

All clients referred for ADHD assessment are screened by the 3 Borough Adult ADHD and Autism Service to ensure eligibility criteria are met. A decision will be made to accept or decline the referral. Often, additional information is requested if the original referral does not provide sufficient information. If accepted, the client is placed on the waiting list.

The assessments commissioned to be completed by the Provider will be drawn from the waiting list and must be registered with a GP from either Lewisham or Lambeth. Clients will have been screened and accepted by the 3 Borough Adult ADHD and Autism Service as described above.

It is reasonable to expect clients to come from an original referral. Clients will then present invariably with additional mental health comorbidities.

If a diagnosis of ADHD is provided at assessment, recommendations and guidance will be given regarding management options, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological options, self-help strategies to support individual self-care, and signposting for further support.

The Provider will also be commissioned to initiate and titrate ADHD medication for clients who choose this option and where clinically indicated. Pharmacological treatment must align with South East London (SEL) Integrated Care Board (ICB) local medicines management guidance.

Clients will be stabilised to an optimum dose before passing the referral and relevant reports back to the 3 Borough Adult ADHD and Autism Service, which will either undertake a review to provide local shared care processes or discharge back to the patient’s GP under Transfer of Care. All documentation will be recorded on the SLaM’s Electronic Patient Record system.
