two.1.4) Short description

Rowan Tree Primary School is looking for 3 days per week during term time of work from an Autism and Communication Consultant. 5 additional days are being procured to facilitate further specific school support and are agreed and planned upon request by school with the successful tenderer.

The Autism and Communication Consultant is required to continue the holistic development and wellbeing of all our pupils, through working with stakeholders resulting in pupils accessing a personalised offer which ensures their communicative potential is achieved and enable pupils to access quality 1st learning experiences through expert teaching and joint approaches with families and other professionals.

The autism and communication consultant must be a qualified speech and language therapist (minimum NHS band 8) with at least 8 years’ experience and in-depth knowledge of supporting pupils with complex autism, they must have the skills and knowledge to work collaboratively with pupils, teachers, teaching assistants, families and Governors to create a total communication environment which fosters the school’s mission statement ‘Learning from every moment by making every moment matter’.
