Tree Maintenance - The Council is responsible for approximately 40,000 trees, these are located on streets andhousing sites, in parks and open spaces, in woodlands and conservation sites, in schools and in the grounds ofother public buildings. Tree works are undertaken to fulfill the Council's 'duty of care' and in accordance with themanagement priorities of the particular service. The Councils Tree Strategy outlines the range of works we carryout and gives a description of different tree maintenance operations.

Soft and Hard Landscaping - The council requires companies to undertake soft and hard landscape projects, toprotect the quality of our existing Parks assets. Suppliers will supply services and supplies to support repairs,maintenance and installation of both existing and new soft and hard landscaping projects for the Parks andLeisure facilities in the borough.

Haringey has a long and successful history of strong community and partnership volunteering activity set withinthe borough's parks and open spaces. The borough has well over 30 individual Friends of Parks groups who doa huge amount within the parks and spend thousands of volunteer hours making them greener, safer and activespaces.

As well as helping with the maintenance and management of parks, groups have helped attract millions ofpounds worth of investment into the parks and have organised activities encouraging local residents to usetheir open spaces to their maximum potential. Haringey also has a strong background of working with partnerorganisations to increase park volunteering in many aspects, providing activity and therefore busy and saferspaces.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

In order to promote sport and physical activity and increase participation London Borough of Haringey (LBH)will in specific designated periods require Service Providers to carry out coaching and other sports and physicalactivity related work with the local community, in particular young people. Additionally the Council will alsoengage sport and physical activity providers for a range of other purposes including crime diversion, communitycohesion and educational purposes.

Sport and Physical activity programmes may vary from a few hours per week to comprehensive and extensivesessions over a fairly long period. All programmes will include performance targets. Most targets will relate tooverall gender, BME and age range usage, with possible specific targets being set around 'at risk' categories.Additionally some programmes may have specific outputs such as numbers of participants achieving awards,coaching qualifications or numbers joining a local club
